Project Statement

The owners of this Rufty built home hired Michael Gress Pools to design and install a pool and fire pit patio in the rear yard of their property in Apex, North Carolina. The landscape design goals were to integrate the Pool, Cabana and patio with the backdrop of the native Pine/ Hardwood forest behind the property. A plant palette was selected which included the foundation of flowering evergreens such as Camellia and Gardenia near seating areas and the soft texture of Dwarf Miscanthus grass against the pool edge. In addition, understory ornamental trees such as Redbud and Dogwood provide focal points for landscape up lighting and add that transition of height against the towering pines in the rear. Lastly, the landscape lighting provides the ultimate accent and sparkle for the nightscape of this beautiful oasis.
