Project Statement

This beautiful colonial home is located in Northern Virginia on a gracious 5 acre estate. The home was positioned to accommodate a long curvilinear driveway with a circular auto court and a secluded pool and gardens to the rear. The landscape design presents a mix of flowering trees which add color and interest under the native hardwoods.

Large masses of shrubs, along with two carefully placed Magnolia trees, provide a strong impact to the foundation planting. Year round color is provided through the use of annuals, perennials, shrub roses, and bulbs. Several large native boulders from the site were incorporated into the garden as focal points and seating opportunities.
